If you are in Manhattan Beach, California and want fun breakfast, try Uncle Bill’s.

We stopped at Uncle Bill’s for breakfast on the first day of our trip to our new home in Florida. Our 5 week trip took us from Irvine, through our beloved Santa Barbara Wine Country to taste and ride our trikes, before heading south and east. Uncle Bill’s is a block away from the beach and that is why we stopped there.

It is an eclectic, funny, beach breakfast place. Lots of surfing pictures, surf boards, and surfing paraphernalia decorate the restaurant. Lots of different breakfast options and it was a good stopping place. You definitely feel the surfing vibe with laid back ambiance. It is a Manhattan Beach legend and you quickly notice it is a local place. It is worth stopping for either breakfast or lunch.

The service was very good. It seemed like most of the staff has been there for a while and worked as a team to make sure the tables and food were moving forward.

Mike had the corned beef hash (a favorite of his), I had the pancakes which definitely defeated me. Their portions are huge even when I asked for 1 pancake. The coffee was pretty good.

We were so glad we had a chance to eat here, even if we were on our way out of the area.
