The best ever Chicken Soup

My mother and grandmother’s made the best chicken soup.  As a little girl, I watched them make chicken soup every week.

I use the same ingredients and make it in bulk so I can freeze it for soup or as broth for anything you want.  You can cut down on the recipe and if you would like but I find that freezing it for later is just convenient.

It is simple to make because good ingredients make good soup. You don’t have to time it. It tells you when it is done.  I put all the ingredients except the dill and parsley into the pot at the same time. I will let you know how much salt and pepper I use but I prefer to salt in the bowl to taste.

Mattison’s City Grill, Main Street, Sarasota, Florida

We had a very enjoyable lunch at Mattison’s City Grill.   It is a real Sarasota classic place. The laid back vibe is fun and relaxing.   It is a covered patio. There is no inside seating because there is no inside except for the kitchen.

Ride to Nathan Benderson Park and Breakfast

It was a humid (for a change) morning in Lakewood Ranch when Mike and I decided to ride to Benderson Rowing Park. It is a 20 mile loop round trip with the pool waiting for us at the end of the trip.

Hey! Where’s your bird?

On Wednesday, I decided to venture into some unexplored territory on my ride.  I’ve wanted to explore an area called Terra Ceia, a small island north of nearby Bradenton that includes a lot of wetlands and a large aquatic preserve. I calculated it was about 50 miles to get there and ride around the island, so I arranged with Nancy to meet me for lunch at a restaurant close to the island.  This has all the makings of an excellent day!
