The second night we stayed at the Lime Tree Bay Resort. Here is what they say about their hotel and I quote from their website. Lime Tree Bay Resort “is an intimate boutique resort which sits on ¼ mile of lush, tropical waterfront property adorned with colorful flowering plants, etc.” “Our upscale resort offers 46 well-appointed rooms and suites all of which have recently been tastefully updated and renovated by professional designer/decorators.”
They claim to be a 3 start resort. We booked this one through Expedia that had a number of good reviews. We respectfully disagree with their description and reviews on so many levels. The best part about it, is that it was inexpensive. Again, we were in a shoulder time but we didn’t think it was worth much more than we paid for it. First of all, the front desk staff was not very accommodating. They barely gave us our key. The rooms are pretty crummy but the worst part is that it was really noisy at night and not from a party. You can hear all of the trucks and whatever traffic was going by on the main road.
We sincerely doubt it was renovated any time in the recent past. It was clean although it smelled like bleach. The air conditioners were pretty noisy as well.
The view was beautiful but not from the room. There were a couple of Adirondack chairs sitting on the dock of the bay. That was the nicest part about it because if you walked out on the dock, you saw signs about watching out for alligators.
They also had the mileage signs to anywhere. We saw quite a few of them along the way.
They did provide a continental breakfast although it was in a restaurant next door. We aren’t sure if they owned that property as well. It seemed that it was mainly a ploy to get you to order some eggs. The staff at the restaurant were very nice but the food wasn’t great. All in all, I don’t think we would stay there again.
