On the way back from Key West, our next stop was Parmer’s Resort. It is another fairly low-key, funky hotel. We had a couple of calls from them because the day we checked in was going to be their Christmas party. They wanted to make sure we checked in ahead of everyone partying.
That day was a pretty crummy day, weather wise. We kept going in and out of the rain so we didn’t really stop other than to have some breakfast. We actually got there around 1:00. The staff was very helpful and gave us a room where they let us place the trikes right outside the door.
Parmer’s is about a mile off the Overseas Highway so we didn’t have the traffic noise. They seem to be a very popular biking (and I mean motorcycle bikes). There was a lot of motorcycle paraphernalia and even rags
It is another older “resort” and I guess any hotel that resides along the water, has water paraphernalia like kayaks and boats is called a resort. The rooms were fairly large. The furniture was early eighties odd furniture. The rooms were clean and pretty comfortable.
It is a relatively low cost place to stay. One night was fine and it was definitely better than the Lime Tree Bay Resort. So the question is: would we stay there again. Probably, if we were riding and not in a car. The price is right.
Outside, it is quite lovely. There is a pool, hammocks, lots of waterfront. We saw people coming in and out by boat. There is a very nice pier and nice walking areas.
There are a couple of restaurants close by. Since we would have had to ride the trikes at night, I really didn’t want to go so we ordered in from a pizza place. It was pretty bad but they delivered. I am not sure what it was but it wasn’t a pizza.
The breakfast was in another building. It wasn’t bad at all compared to some of the others we had. Ordinarily, we wouldn’t stay there but, since we were riding, it was fine. They are close to No Name Key. We heard there is a good pizza place there. We should have gone there but we needed to save something for next time.
