The is our little dog Mac. He is about 2 years old. His real name is McCartney – but we call him Mac for short. Mac is a Lakeland Terrier. He is small (about 15 pounds), but he doesn’t know it. His breeders are our good friends Maripi and Jennifer in North Carolina. (www.bedandbone.net).
He loves people, but he prefers to believe that he is the only dog in the world. When confronted with another dog, he will bark and act a bit aggressive. It’s just the terrier way.
He loves to come along with us on bike rides. When he was a little puppy we got him a DoggyRide Trailer and started taking him along on 25-35 mile rides with us. He spends most of him time standing up with his head out the top of the trailer looking around. He almost never sits or lays down. As a result, he is exhausted when we get back. When he is with us we stop often to let him pee and poop and give him some water, and we don’t take him along if it is very hot.
Whenever he sees his trailer in the garage, he runs to it and jumps in, as if to let me know it’s time for another ride. It really is his favorite thing to do – which is good because it’s also mine. When he isn’t in the trailer, he can be found running along side Nancy on her trike. He runs about a mile each morning and each evening when it isn’t too hot. He is really fast – when he gets going it is hard to keep up with him on the trike! He seems to have a fifth gear when he spots an interesting dog along his run.
He loves to eat also, but we don’t really let him share in that part of our lives so much. He enjoys his kibble, but we probably won’t be writing too much about that.
The hilariously privileged and disciplined life of Mac…love it!
You don’t think we spoil him, do you?
