I have to admit, Mike and I are unabashed and unrepentant Pinot Noir fans. We love the big, chewy and/or tasty pinots. Unfortunately, many people have only had the fairly lean ones.

On the last day of our ride, we arrived at Hawk’s Cay. Thankfully, the car was still there. It is a beautiful property and we were so excited to stay in a luxurious place after all of the funky places during our trip.

Santiago’s Bodega, Key West, Florida
On Saturday evening, we had drinks again at our favorite bar, La Te Da, We asked the bartender for recommendations for an early dinner. We didn’t have lunch because we were on our kayaking trip. so we could take advantage of the bar specials. They recommended Santiago’s Bodega.
Louie’s Backyard, Key West, Florida
On Friday night, we went to Louie’s Backyard with Cindy, who is a local friend. The restaurant was a complete surprise. It is a sophisticated, lovely restaurant. I guess we expected a bar-b-que joint. It was very nice inside but even nicer was the outside seating. We enjoyed the whole experience. It is a romantic restaurant and just hearing the water lapping around us just sets the mood.
Nine One Five (Duval St.) Key West, Florida
We arrived in Key West the third day! Yahoo, there are some good restaurants for us to enjoy. We were hungry because we didn’t stop for lunch, but we wanted to have a nice dinner. We decided to try Nine One Five on Duval Street.

The Hideaway, Grassy Key, Florida
For dinner on Day One of our Key West Tour, we went in search of something different. How about a French restaurant in the keys? We found the Hideaway Café on Grassy Key. First of all, it is hidden away.
Day 5 – Kayaking in the Mangroves
Ahhhh. Another day in paradise. The sun rises into a clear bright blue sky as we peek out the window from the Authors Guesthouse. We’ve got another play day planned. No trike riding today. Today we will go kayaking in the mangrove jungles that surround Key West.
Day 4 – A Free Day In Key West
The Authors Guesthouse has proven a fine place to relax in Key West. It’s close enough to town that everything is an easy bike or cab ride. But it’s far enough away that we are not disturbed by the hustle and bustle on the street, and we don’t hear any traffic noise. Both of us sleep well, and awaken to our first morning in Key West eager to explore the town.
Day 3 – Big Pine Key to Key West
Tim, our host at the Barnacle Bed and Breakfast, prepares a fabulous breakfast. We gathered with the other guests on the upstairs patio to share breakfast, along with the gorgeous views of the Gulf. We gorge ourselves on vegetable fritatta, and chat with our fellow travelers about trikes,, the trip and our plans for the day.
