The next trip for The Recumbent Gourmet is in the works.  Nancy and Mike are planning to get in a short tour before the holidays to Florida’s iconic  Key West.

We’ll both be riding our trikes from Key Largo to Key West and back.  The plan is for a nice, relaxed tour.  No camping this time around.  Instead, we’ll be staying in motels and bed and breakfasts.  Three days down, three days in Key West, and three days back.

I’m a little nervous about the ride – I have heard both good and bad things about this route.    Have you ridden this route before?  Do you have any advice about the best times to ride or particular places to avoid?

How about recommendations for places to stay and great restaurants?  I have not been to Key West for over 30 years, so I’m betting my knowledge is out of date.  Those of you that have more current experience, please share it with us.
