Key Plaza Creperie Restaurant, Key West, Florida

We left fairly early and didn’t wait for breakfast at Author’s Guest House. We thought we would find something along the causeway out of Key West. We kept looking for something that was not IHOP and, we found it in a little, out of the way strip mall. The restaurant is named the Key Plaza Creperie since there is a Creperie in Key West proper.

It was a delightful crepe restaurant that had wonderful coffee and french pressed tea.  We were dumbfounded that a place like this would be here. You don’t usually find loose tea in restaurants unless they are very good ones.

What a delight, pressed tea and they give you a timer to make sure you have it right. Just wonderful.

Here we were sitting outside on a cloudy day right next to the parking lot.

I had a scrambled egg and a slice of toast since we had a long ride and just wanted protein but not much. Mike had an egg sandwich. To tell the truth, I wish we took the time for a bigger breakfast because it was delightful even though it was in a strip mall. They seemed to have a busy delivery service because we saw the delivery guy coming and going a few times while we sat there. The delivery guy was a great Key West character. He rode a scooter with two adorable dogs that were kept in comfortable surroundings while riding with him.  Additionally, they had little goggles to protect their eyes. We started thinking it may be time to get some for Mac.

In short, it was a wonderful place and we will definitely go back there when we get the chance. We would never have found this place if we weren’t riding our bikes.
