Recently we ran across Kate Weiner, the daughter of one of Mike’s old friends, who is a co-editor of Loam Magazine. We got to talking about our respective projects, and decided it would be fun to work together on some collaborative articles.
Loam’s mission – as you can read for yourselves – shares some essential elements with the guiding principles of The Recumbent Gourmet.
Loam is an environmental arts magazine dedicated to promoting the work of pioneering individuals and organizations in the realm of sustainability. We see creativity and sustainability as symbiotic. Our hope is that in illuminating inventive responses to environmental issues, we can help these movements take root. So often, the doom and gloom approach to climate change makes people immobile: we can start to think why bother? Loam believes that meaningful change stems from a place of positivity. When we see examples of others making a difference, we are similarly inspired to adopt ecologically conscious practices. In this way, Loam is a collaborative space for cultivating sustainability practices but it’s also a playful space, a platform for profiling all the good stuff that’s growing in our community.
Loam recently published a profile of The Recumbent Gourmet on their site. Check it out here!
We are naturally excited about this collaboration. We love the ideas behind Loam, and are looking forward to some more interesting projects that we can develop together in the future. Stay tuned to The Recumbent Gourmet to learn more……
