It was so amazing to ride into Key West to our next place to stay The Author’s Guest House, Key West

Author’s Guest House was recommended to us by a close friend who lives in Key West. Her daughter worked there. We were told it is nice and very clean. The description was apt. It was very nice, clean, and best of all, they had a place we could keep the trikes that was off the street and under an awning.

Key Plaza Creperie Restaurant, Key West, Florida

We left fairly early and didn’t wait for breakfast at Author’s Guest House. We thought we would find something along the causeway out of Key West. We kept looking for something that was not IHOP and, we found it in a little, out of the way strip mall. The restaurant is named the Key Plaza Creperie since there is a Creperie in Key West proper.

Chickens (rather Roosters), bright colors, and cats appear to characterize the restaurant along with good food and drinks. It is a big courtyard with stages for music and art, a bar, and lots of tables under trees.

Louie’s Backyard, Key West, Florida

On Friday night, we went to Louie’s Backyard with Cindy, who is a local friend.  The restaurant was a complete surprise. It is a sophisticated, lovely restaurant. I guess we expected a bar-b-que joint.  It was very nice inside but even nicer was the outside seating. We enjoyed the whole experience. It is a romantic restaurant and just hearing the water lapping around us just sets the mood.
